Care Guide
Watch Care Guide
At The Wrist Aura, we want your watch to maintain its appearance and performance for as long as possible. Proper care and handling can help protect your timepiece from unnecessary wear and damage.
1. Keep Your Watch Clean
-
Gently wipe your watch regularly with a soft, clean, dry microfiber cloth.
-
Remove dust, fingerprints, and light marks from the case, crystal, and bracelet or strap.
-
Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh cleaning chemicals.
2. Protect Your Watch From Water
-
Always check the water-resistance specifications of your particular watch before exposing it to water.
-
Do not assume that a watch is waterproof simply because it has some level of water resistance.
-
Avoid unnecessary exposure to showers, swimming, hot water, steam, and moisture unless the watch is specifically designed for such conditions.
-
Never operate the crown or buttons while the watch is wet.
3. Avoid Chemicals
Keep your watch away from substances such as:
-
Perfume
-
Deodorant
-
Hair spray
-
Lotions and creams
-
Cleaning chemicals
-
Solvents
-
Salt water
These substances may affect the finish, strap, seals, or other components of the watch.
4. Protect Against Impact
Although watches are designed for everyday use, strong impacts can damage the movement, crystal, case, hands, or other components.
-
Avoid dropping the watch.
-
Remove the watch before activities involving heavy impact.
-
Store it safely when not in use.
5. Temperature & Magnetic Fields
Avoid exposing your watch to extreme temperatures for extended periods.
Keep mechanical and automatic watches away from strong magnetic fields and electronic devices that may affect timekeeping accuracy.
6. Strap & Bracelet Care
Metal Bracelet
-
Wipe the bracelet regularly with a soft cloth.
-
Keep it dry after contact with moisture.
-
Clean accumulated dust or dirt carefully.
Leather Strap
-
Keep leather straps away from excessive water and moisture.
-
Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
-
Allow the strap to dry naturally if it becomes slightly damp.
-
Do not use harsh chemicals on leather.
Other Straps
Follow the care recommendations applicable to the specific strap material shown on your product page.
7. Automatic & Mechanical Watches
If your watch uses an automatic or mechanical movement:
-
Avoid unnecessary shocks and impacts.
-
If the watch stops after not being worn, it may require winding or movement according to its specific mechanism.
-
Do not force the crown if you feel unusual resistance.
-
For technical servicing or movement-related issues, contact a qualified watch professional.
8. Battery-Powered Watches
For watches powered by a battery:
-
If the watch stops or becomes inaccurate, the battery may require replacement.
-
Battery replacement should preferably be performed by a qualified watch technician.
-
Avoid attempting to open the case yourself, as improper opening may damage the watch or affect its water resistance.
9. Proper Storage
When you are not wearing your watch:
-
Store it in a clean and dry place.
-
Keep it away from excessive humidity.
-
Avoid placing heavy objects on top of it.
-
Use the original watch box or a suitable watch case whenever possible.
10. Regular Maintenance
For long-term performance, periodic professional inspection and servicing may be recommended depending on the type of watch and movement.
If you notice unusual noises, significant timekeeping changes, loose components, or other issues, discontinue use and consult a qualified watch professional.
Important Note
Watch specifications vary by model. Always refer to the individual product listing and specifications for information regarding water resistance, movement, materials, and other features.
Proper care helps maintain your watch, but normal wear and tear may naturally occur over time.
